The Australian Cartoonists Association, NSW’s Chapter, (ACA-NSW) is proud to announce that its next official function will consist of a number of talks followed by a banquet dinner at an Italian Restaurant on the 13th of September 2015 (ACA NSW Spring 2015 Function).
Note that this event is open to not only ACA Members and their families but also to anybody happy to come and learn about the ACA, anybody keen on cartooning in general or anybody keen to meet other artists.

Talk by Adam Murphy 6:30pm to 7:00pm
Brief Bio: Adam started work as an animator at Disney at just 15 years of age, one of the youngest animators to work for the studio. He has spent the past 25 years working as a story artist and animator for Disney, Lucasfilm and other major film and animation studios. He’s currently working on the next instalment of The Lego Movie series and developed with his wife, Demelza, the children’s brand Welly’s Wonders. Outline of the talk: Adam will talk a bit about his history, influences and transition from traditional animation to 3d to storyboard work and finally to the illustration work he’s doing now.

Pre-set banquet dinner 7:30pm to late
$30 a head (2 types of pasta, 2 types of pizza, salad, coffee), BYO alcoholic drinks (no corkage fee). The fee for kids having dinner with us is $20 per child.
Drinks can be purchased at the bar of the restaurant, but at an additional cost NOT covered by the $30 a head fee for the dinner itself.
As it is a pre-set dinner, if you have special dietary requirements, please let me know as soon as possible so that I can enquire about alternative options with the restaurant and ensure you’ll have a nice dinner with us…

NOTE: This is a catered event, and I’ll need to let the restaurant know the exact number of people coming for them to buy & prepare the food. To that effect, be aware that if you have to cancel with less than one week notice, you may still have to pay otherwise, I’ll have to pay for you to cover the cost. The best thing would be maybe to pre-pay, but we can discuss when you book by emailing me.
