The Copyright Agency is searching for cartoonists in Australia who may be eligible for a royalty payment as part of its Artists’ Royalty Payback initiative. Check it out.
WHAT IS IT?
The Copyright Agency has set aside more than half a million dollars in royalties to distribute to visual artists visual artists/estates who can provide us with information on where images they own the rights to have been published in print, or broadcast on TV.
WHY ARE THEY DOING THIS?
The information provided serve to improve the reliability and quality of our survey data and reduce the time needed to identify rights holders in future. Overall, it will help us make sure the licence fees we collect go to a more accurate, fair and diverse spread of our creator members.
WHAT DOES THE CAMPAIGN INVOLVE?
They have created a dedicated section of the website with a landing page, links to the online form and FAQs. They will also have some website promotion on both the Copyright Agency and Viscopy websites.
